Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Team Management
- Lead and mentor a team of engineers and surveyors
- Provide technical guidance, training, and professional development
- Ensure QA/QC procedures are followed and continuously improved
- Oversee civil engineering design efforts including reports, calculations, construction drawings, and specifications
- Conduct technical reviews of staff work, reports, correspondence, and deliverables
- Troubleshoot complex engineering challenges and provide technical recommendations
- Ensure all projects are delivered on time, within scope, and aligned with budget expectations
- Build and maintain strong client relationships
- Support and develop project proposals, scopes, and budgets
- Actively pursue business development opportunities with new and existing clients
- Leverage strong local ties and industry presence to expand the firm’s reach
- Communicate effectively with clients, agencies, and internal departments
- Participate in professional and technical organizations to support office visibility
- Support ongoing improvements to internal tools, standards, and resources to enhance quality and efficiency
Qualified Candidates Will Bring:
- Strong technical skills, with the ability to clearly articulate engineering concepts
- Experience preparing plans, specifications, cost estimates, and construction-phase engineering support
- Proven ability to solve complex engineering problems
- Demonstrated leadership, staff management, and mentoring capabilities
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Experience developing detailed reports and client proposals
- Proficiency in standard software applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, etc.)
- Strong regional client relationships and the ability to generate new business
