This role combines hands-on electrical design, power electronics, PCB development, product verification, regulatory compliance, and field troubleshooting. The engineer will support products from initial concept through production release and collaborate with firmware, systems, manufacturing, quality, sales, and technical-support teams.

The exact worksite location will be disclosed to qualified candidates during the recruitment process.

Key Responsibilities

Electrical Design and Product Development

  • Lead electrical design activities for AC/DC battery chargers, DC/DC converters, rectifiers, and related power-conversion equipment.
  • Support new-product development from concept through design, verification, first-article testing, and production release.
  • Design and improve digital and analog hardware used in embedded-control platforms.
  • Develop production-ready schematics, circuit designs, PCB layouts, and supporting documentation.
  • Evaluate power semiconductors and electrical components for performance and reliability.
  • Ensure products can operate under harsh conditions, including extreme heat, cold, moisture, flooding, and severe weather.
  • Participate in design reviews, risk assessments, testing, and continuous-improvement activities.
  • Collaborate with firmware and systems engineers to define product requirements and hardware-software interfaces.

Field Support and Troubleshooting

  • Serve as a senior technical resource for individual power units and complete integrated systems.
  • Diagnose breaker trips, ground faults, load-sharing imbalances, communication errors, and other system-level problems.
  • Perform root-cause analysis and lead corrective actions.
  • Support technical questions from customers, sales, manufacturing, quality, and field-service teams.
  • Provide guidance regarding product capabilities, applications, limitations, and system integration.

Documentation and Compliance

  • Prepare and maintain schematics, bills of material, engineering-change requests, interface specifications, revision notes, and test documentation.
  • Maintain accurate revision control throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Apply applicable UL, CSA, NEC, and IEEE standards to new and existing designs.
  • Support regulatory-certification submissions and third-party testing.
  • Ensure engineering and production documentation remains accurate and current.

Required Qualifications
