Position Overview
We are seeking a results-driven Maintenance Manager to lead maintenance operations at a specialty chemical manufacturing facility in Baltimore, MD. This role is responsible for driving equipment reliability, maintenance performance, and operational efficiency through a structured, data-driven approach.
The ideal candidate is a strong leader who thrives in a performance-based environment, builds accountability within teams, and uses metrics and data to drive continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead all aspects of plant maintenance operations, including mechanical, electrical, and reliability functions
- Develop, implement, and manage preventive and predictive maintenance programs
- Establish and drive key performance indicators (KPIs) including MTBF, MTTR, OEE, PM compliance, and downtime reduction
- Utilize CMMS systems (SAP preferred) to manage work orders, maintenance planning, and reporting
- Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) and implement corrective actions to eliminate recurring equipment failures
- Build and maintain maintenance dashboards and reporting systems to drive data-based decision making
- Partner with operations and leadership to improve plant throughput, efficiency, and reliability
- Manage maintenance planning, scheduling, and resource allocation
- Lead capital projects, equipment upgrades, and continuous improvement initiatives
- Drive safety compliance and regulatory adherence, including working within a union environment
- Develop and mentor maintenance staff, ensuring accountability, performance, and skill development
Qualifications
- 5+ years of maintenance leadership experience in manufacturing, chemical, or industrial environments
- Proven experience driving metrics-based maintenance programs and reliability improvements
- Strong knowledge of preventive, predictive, and reliability-centered maintenance practices
- Experience with CMMS systems (SAP preferred) and maintenance data analysis
- Demonstrated ability to improve uptime, reduce downtime, and optimize equipment performance
- Experience working in union environments preferred
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Technical background in mechanical and/or electrical systems
Preferred Experience
- Background in chemical manufacturing or continuous process environments
- Experience implementing or working within TPM or reliability-driven maintenance systems
- Familiarity with data visualization tools or maintenance dashboards
