Job Description

Position Overview

We are seeking a results-driven Maintenance Manager to lead maintenance operations at a specialty chemical manufacturing facility in Baltimore, MD. This role is responsible for driving equipment reliability, maintenance performance, and operational efficiency through a structured, data-driven approach.

The ideal candidate is a strong leader who thrives in a performance-based environment, builds accountability within teams, and uses metrics and data to drive continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead all aspects of plant maintenance operations, including mechanical, electrical, and reliability functions
  • Develop, implement, and manage preventive and predictive maintenance programs
  • Establish and drive key performance indicators (KPIs) including MTBF, MTTR, OEE, PM compliance, and downtime reduction
  • Utilize CMMS systems (SAP preferred) to manage work orders, maintenance planning, and reporting
  • Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) and implement corrective actions to eliminate recurring equipment failures
  • Build and maintain maintenance dashboards and reporting systems to drive data-based decision making
  • Partner with operations and leadership to improve plant throughput, efficiency, and reliability
  • Manage maintenance planning, scheduling, and resource allocation
  • Lead capital projects, equipment upgrades, and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Drive safety compliance and regulatory adherence, including working within a union environment
  • Develop and mentor maintenance staff, ensuring accountability, performance, and skill development

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of maintenance leadership experience in manufacturing, chemical, or industrial environments
  • Proven experience driving metrics-based maintenance programs and reliability improvements
  • Strong knowledge of preventive, predictive, and reliability-centered maintenance practices
  • Experience with CMMS systems (SAP preferred) and maintenance data analysis
  • Demonstrated ability to improve uptime, reduce downtime, and optimize equipment performance
  • Experience working in union environments preferred
  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Technical background in mechanical and/or electrical systems

Preferred Experience

  • Background in chemical manufacturing or continuous process environments
  • Experience implementing or working within TPM or reliability-driven maintenance systems
  • Familiarity with data visualization tools or maintenance dashboards
