Maintenance Manager – Chemical / Petrochemical Plant (Mechanical Integrity Focus)

Location: Proctor, West Virginia
Relocation: Available ($10K–$12K)
Compensation: Up to $160K base + bonus + strong benefits

We are representing a global chemical / petrochemical manufacturing organization seeking a Maintenance Manager to lead plant maintenance operations at a highly automated, continuous processing facility.

This is a hands-on leadership role focused on mechanical integrity and maintenance execution. This is not a reliability-only position.


Position Overview

The Maintenance Manager will lead all maintenance functions to ensure maximum equipment uptime, safe and compliant operations, and long-term asset performance.

The facility includes advanced equipment such as rotating equipment (pumps, compressors, turbines), high-pressure steam systems, centrifuges, DCS/process control systems, and electrical infrastructure.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop maintenance supervisors, planners, and technicians

  • Plan and execute preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance

  • Drive equipment uptime, efficiency, and cost optimization

  • Own and manage mechanical integrity programs

  • Conduct root cause failure analysis (RCFA) and implement corrective actions

  • Partner with Operations, Engineering, and Supply Chain teams

  • Manage maintenance budgets, KPIs, and spare parts inventory

  • Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and PSM regulations

  • Support plant expansion and capital improvement projects


Required Experience

  • 15+ years of maintenance experience in chemical, petrochemical, or refining environments

  • Proven leadership in plant maintenance (not reliability-only roles)

  • Strong hands-on experience with rotating equipment and plant systems

  • Experience in continuous processing environments

  • Deep understanding of Process Safety Management (PSM)


Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering preferred
