SAP Configuration Analyst (FI/CO) – S/4HANA

Location: Herndon, VA (Hybrid) | Philadelphia, PA (Hybrid) | High Point, NC (Hybrid)
Compensation: $125,000 – $140,000 Base


Overview

A well-established, growth-oriented organization in the food and process manufacturing sector is seeking an experienced SAP Configuration Analyst to support and optimize its enterprise SAP S/4HANA environment.

This role will play a key part in leading configuration, design, enhancement, and support activities across Finance and Controlling (FI/CO), ensuring business alignment, operational stability, and continuous improvement of SAP functionality.

This is a high-impact role within a collaborative IT and business transformation team.


Position Summary

The SAP Configuration Analyst will:

  • Lead SAP configuration and functional analysis activities across strategic initiatives

  • Support ongoing S/4HANA implementation and optimization efforts

  • Design, develop, and enhance system functionality aligned with business goals

  • Ensure system stability, compliance with IT controls, and uninterrupted operations

  • Partner closely with Finance, Operations, and cross-functional business stakeholders


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead solution design and system configuration within SAP FI/CO

  • Manage activities across project lifecycle phases (Define, Design, Develop, Implement, Support)

  • Develop functional specifications and collaborate with technical teams on enhancements (interfaces, reports, conversions, forms, user exits)

  • Ensure proper integration across FI, CO, PP, MM, and SD modules

  • Facilitate process improvements through enhanced SAP functionality

  • Develop and execute unit, integration, and regression testing plans

  • Support issue resolution and end-user knowledge transfer

  • Maintain system configuration documentation and user access controls

  • Support compliance with IT governance and internal controls

  • Participate in broader SAP initiatives including Finance, Controlling, and integration with logistics modules


Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business (Finance concentration), or related field (or equivalent experience)

  • 8+ years of IT experience, including:

    • 6+ years of hands-on SAP FI/CO functional configuration

  • Experience supporting SAP ECC 6.0 and S/4HANA environments

  • Strong knowledge of integration and financial value flow between:

    • FI / CO / MM / PP / SD

  • Experience with full-cycle SAP implementations

  • Experience with BAPI, IDOC, BDC, LSMW, and related interface methods

  • Working knowledge of SAP security and access controls

  • Strong experience in:

    • Accounts Payable / Accounts Receivable

    • New General Ledger

    • Cost Center Accounting

    • Fixed Assets

    • Internal Orders

    • Bank Accounting

    • Product Costing

    • Material Ledger

    • Basic COPA

    • SAP Fiori for accounting processes


Preferred Qualifications

  • SAP Certification (FI and/or CO; S/4HANA preferred)

  • Experience with SAP Analytics Cloud and/or Signavio

  • Exposure to SD, MM, PP, EWM, or QM modules

  • Experience with ALE / EDI / IDOC

  • Project management experience or certification

  • Experience in process manufacturing, consumer products, or food production environments

  • Plant accounting and product costing experience
