Nurse Manager of NICU RN - Sign-On Bonus

Job Summary

This leadership role supports the Director in overseeing daily operations of the Women’s Services / NICU department, ensuring high-quality, patient-centered care aligned with the organization’s mission, vision, and long-range strategic goals. The position provides clinical and operational leadership, supports nursing staff, and plays an active role in performance improvement and quality initiatives.

The successful candidate will assist with planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care while promoting best practices in nursing care delivery. This role requires flexibility, strong clinical judgment, and the ability to lead in a fast-paced acute-care NICU environment.


Key Responsibilities

  • Assist the Director with departmental operations to ensure alignment with organizational goals, mission, vision, and values

  • Support and coordinate the department’s participation in Performance Improvement and Quality Improvement initiatives

  • Ensure nursing care delivery is based on the nursing process and continuously evaluated for effectiveness

  • Provide hands-on clinical leadership and support to nursing staff

  • Assist with planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care within the Women’s Services / NICU units

  • Support staffing, workflow coordination, and unit needs based on census and acuity


Shift Information

  • Days: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM

  • Evenings: 3:00 PM – 11:00 PM

  • Nights: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM

All shifts include weekend rotation and on-call requirements. Candidates must be flexible with scheduling due to the leadership nature of this role.


Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 2+ years of NICU experience (required)

  • Recent (within the last year) acute-care NICU leadership experience in a Level III or Level IV NICU (required)

  • Minimum 2+ years of management or Charge Nurse experience

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required

  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Texas or Multi-State Compact License

    • Compact license holders must obtain a Texas RN license within 60 days of hire

  • Current American Heart Association (AHA) BLS Certification required


Compensation & Benefits

  • Hourly Range:

    • Minimum: $45.79/hr

    • Midpoint: $52.85/hr

    • Maximum: $60.09/hr
      (Compensation is heavily based on years of experience)

  • Sign-On Bonus: $20,000

  • Relocation Assistance: Case by case
