Sr Staff Accountant

Senior Staff Accountant

Compensation: $85,000–$90,000 annually (DOE)

Position Overview

A confidential organization in the construction and real estate sector is seeking a highly detail-oriented Senior Staff Accountant to support accounting operations across multiple entities. This role is responsible for loan-related accounting activities, job cost accounting, and month-end close processes, and will work closely with finance leadership to ensure accurate financial reporting and compliance.

This position requires current, hands-on experience with JD Edwards (JDE), which is a non-negotiable requirement.


Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and post loan closing journal entries

  • Manage loan draws, reconciliations, and supporting documentation

  • Support loan compliance reporting and lender-related accounting requirements

  • Participate in and support the month-end close process, ensuring accuracy and timeliness

  • Perform job cost accounting, including tracking, reconciliation, and variance analysis

  • Maintain accurate accounting records across multiple legal entities

  • Partner with internal teams to ensure financial data integrity and audit readiness

  • Support ad hoc accounting analysis and reporting as requested


Required Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a Staff Accountant or Senior Staff Accountant

  • Background in construction and/or real estate accounting

  • Experience managing accounting for multiple entities

  • Strong working knowledge of JD Edwards (JDE)required / non-negotiable

  • Solid experience with loan accounting, including loan closings, draws, and reconciliations

  • Hands-on experience with job cost accounting

  • Strong month-end close experience


Technical Skills

  • JD Edwards (JDE) — required

  • Microsoft Office Suite

  • Advanced Excel skills, including VLOOKUPs and Pivot Tables


Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting lender reporting and compliance

  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills

  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment

  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
