Compensation: $110,000 – $140,000 base
Excellent opportunity to join a specialty chemical manufacturing facility as an Area Production Engineering Manager with hands-on responsibility for day-to-day production engineering and shift-based operations across multiple production units.
This role requires an active, floor-based leader who is currently working in a production engineering or production management role, supporting a 4-shift operation (~24 employees) while maintaining ownership of process performance, safety, quality, and regulatory compliance.
Lead daily production engineering and operations execution across assigned production units
Directly manage 4-shift operations (approximately 24 hourly employees) including operators, maintenance, and E&I support
Own production yield, throughput, cycle time, and equipment capacity optimization
Provide hands-on chemical process troubleshooting for deviations, upsets, and quality issues
Lead SOP and batch sheet development, revisions, and enforcement
Drive daily production meetings, shift handovers, and performance reviews
Ensure execution of preventive maintenance (PM) programs in coordination with Maintenance
Manage area operating and maintenance budgets
Implement and close CAPA actions and conduct risk assessments
Maintain in-plant inventory controls for raw materials and intermediates
Ensure full compliance with:
OSHA / PSM
Environmental (Air, Water, Waste) regulations
ISO 9001 quality systems
Support employee training, coaching, and performance management
Maintain strong communication across Engineering, EHS, Maintenance, and Quality
Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical Engineering (required)
8+ years of experience currently working in a Production Engineering Manager or Production Manager role within:
Chemical manufacturing
Specialty chemicals
Pharmaceutical
Pulp & Paper
Other PSM-regulated manufacturing environments
Current hands-on responsibility for:
Day-to-day production engineering
Shift-based operations (multi-shift preferred)
Direct management of 15–30 production staff
Strong background in batch process chemical manufacturing, including:
Cycle time optimization
Yield tracking
Equipment capacity management
Demonstrated expertise in:
OSHA / PSM compliance
Environmental compliance (air, water, waste)
ISO 9001 systems
Working knowledge of SPC / SQC
U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident (Green Card required)
