Job Description

This position is on site in Greater Cincinnati.
The Health, Safety, and Environmental Manager is responsible for leading, administering, and executing site-level health, safety, and environmental programs. This role ensures compliance with applicable regulatory requirements while fostering a proactive, continuous-improvement safety culture across the operation.
Key Responsibilities
Develop, implement, and maintain site-specific HSE policies, standards, and programs aligned with regulatory requirements and best practices.
Promote a strong safety culture through engagement initiatives, awareness campaigns, and incentive programs.
Monitor, analyze, and report leading and lagging safety indicators; develop corrective and preventive actions.
Drive continuous improvement in safety management systems and processes.
Deliver training, coaching, and guidance to employees to ensure understanding, compliance, and accountability.
Lead incident investigations, analyze trends, and implement programs to reduce risk and improve performance.
Oversee contractor safety programs, ensuring contractors comply with site safety requirements and project leaders maintain accountability.
Manage safety supplies, personal protective equipment, and safety communication tools.
Facilitate safety committee meetings and support hazard analyses and risk assessments.
Support internal audit activities related to health, safety, and environmental compliance.
Participate in cross-functional initiatives that support overall site objectives.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Health & Safety, Environmental Science, or a related discipline.
Minimum of four years of progressive HSE leadership or management experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
Strong working knowledge of applicable regulations and standards, including OSHA, EPA, DOT, PSM, and ISO frameworks.
Experience with hazard recognition, job hazard analysis, and behavior-based safety programs preferred.
Demonstrated ability to influence and drive results without direct authority.
Flexibility to adjust work hours as needed to support operational requirements, including occasional evenings or weekends.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
Physical Requirements
Ability to lift up to 50–75 pounds on an occasional basis.
Ability to sit, stand, walk, climb stairs, and use ladders as required to perform job duties.
