A fast-growing, engineering-driven automation organization is seeking a Senior Automation Engineer to lead the design, programming, integration, and commissioning of advanced robotic and automated manufacturing systems. This role is essential in delivering high-complexity automation solutions for major industrial and manufacturing clients.
You will work hands-on with robotics, controls, software, custom machinery, and advanced automation technologies while collaborating with a talented engineering team. This position is perfect for someone who thrives in technical problem-solving, system integration, and leading automation projects from concept to commissioning.
Design, program, and integrate automation systems including robotics, PLCs, HMIs, machine vision, and motion control.
Develop system specifications, functional requirements, electrical designs, panel layouts, and documentation.
Lead commissioning activities including FAT, SAT, debugging, optimization, and final system acceptance.
Collaborate with mechanical, electrical, software, and manufacturing engineers to deliver turnkey systems.
Implement improvements for system performance, reliability, and safety across automation projects.
Support customer meetings, technical reviews, demonstrations, and on-site technical deployments.
Guide junior engineers and contribute to technical standards and best practices.
Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Robotics, Mechatronics, or Automation Engineering (Master’s preferred)
5–15 years of experience in industrial automation, robotics, or custom system integration
Hands-on experience with:
Robotics (FANUC, ABB, KUKA, UR, etc.)
PLC programming (Allen-Bradley, Siemens, Beckhoff)
Motion/servo systems, pneumatics, sensors
HMI/SCADA development
Experience designing or integrating custom automated machinery in manufacturing settings
Strong troubleshooting, debugging, and project leadership skills
Ability to work onsite daily in Hollis, NH, and travel as needed for customer support
