Lead Operations for a Fast-Growing Environmental Services Organization

Our client, a leader in waste, recycling, and environmental solutions, is seeking a dynamic Vice President of Operations to elevate performance, optimize multi-site operations, and lead strategic growth initiatives across the Greater Monmouth County region.

This on-site executive position (based near Red Bank, NJ) oversees multiple divisions—including C&D Transfer Stations, Recycling, Scrap Metal, Mulch, and RCA Manufacturing—and plays a pivotal role in shaping the company’s operational future. You will partner directly with the CEO to modernize systems, strengthen safety culture, and accelerate efficiency across the enterprise.


Key Responsibilities

  • Direct and optimize day-to-day operations across multiple facilities, ensuring excellence in safety, compliance, quality, and production flow.

  • Standardize and upgrade SOPs to drive consistency and operational discipline across all divisions.

  • Own and refine operational KPIs, including throughput, utilization, material yield, cost control, and maintenance performance.

  • Ensure rigorous compliance with environmental and safety regulations (NJDEP, PADEP, and other governing bodies).

  • Lead and implement continuous improvement efforts using Lean, Six Sigma, and structured problem-solving methods.

  • Drive financial performance through budgeting, forecasting, resource planning, and cost-reduction initiatives.

  • Deliver monthly operational and financial performance reports to the executive leadership team.

  • Recruit, mentor, and develop high-performing site leaders and division directors.

  • Collaborate closely with the CEO on long-term growth, sustainability initiatives, and capital expansion plans.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Operations, Engineering, Business, or related field (Master’s preferred).

  • 10–15+ years of progressive leadership experience in manufacturing, recycling, environmental services, industrial operations, or similar fields.

  • Demonstrated success leading multi-site operations with full P&L accountability.

  • Strong financial management skills, including budgeting, forecasting, and KPI-driven decision making.

  • Expertise in Lean, Six Sigma, or other CI methodologies.

  • Exceptional leadership presence, communication ability, and organizational discipline.

  • Strong knowledge of environmental and regulatory compliance frameworks.
