Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Manager – Immediate Need

Location: Geneva, NY (Finger Lakes Region, between Rochester & Syracuse)
Compensation: $110,000 – $125,000 base + bonus potential
Relocation: Available for the right candidate
Work Authorization: U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident only


About the Role

A leading manufacturer in the Finger Lakes region is seeking a proactive Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Manager to drive compliance, safety, and environmental stewardship across site operations. This is a high-impact role where you’ll lead EHS initiatives, partner with leadership, and ensure regulatory excellence—particularly with EPA, hazardous materials, and wastewater compliance.

You’ll be the site’s subject matter expert for all EHS matters, responsible for developing systems, coaching leaders, driving world-class safety practices, and fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage all EHS program elements, assessing performance and ensuring continuous improvement.

  • Provide subject matter expertise in EPA regulations, hazardous materials, and wastewater compliance, serving as the primary liaison during inspections and audits.

  • Develop, implement, and maintain site-wide EHS programs, policies, and training.

  • Partner with operations leadership, mentoring and coaching to embed safety and environmental best practices at every level.

  • Analyze EHS metrics and implement data-driven improvements to enhance site performance.

  • Oversee incident reporting, investigations, corrective actions, and hazard/risk assessments.

  • Ensure alignment with corporate governance programs, regulatory standards, and world-class manufacturing principles.

  • Stay current with evolving EHS regulations, proactively preparing the site for compliance.

  • Leverage technology and AI-driven tools to enhance safety, compliance, and reporting systems.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required (EHS, Occupational Health, Engineering, Science, or related).

  • 5+ years of progressive EHS experience in industrial or heavy manufacturing, with strong expertise in EPA regulations, hazardous materials, and wastewater compliance.

  • Strong communication and leadership skills, able to influence across all levels of an organization.

  • Proven success developing and motivating teams, and implementing effective EHS management systems.

  • CSP or other relevant professional EHS certification preferred.

  • Familiarity with Lean manufacturing and continuous improvement practices.
