Associate Civil Project Manager

Location: San Diego, CA
Employment Type: Full-Time, Regular, Professional
Salary Range: $111,280 – $145,600 annually

As an Associate Civil Project Manager, you’ll collaborate with industry-leading experts, support local communities, and develop professionally while helping bring clients’ visions to life.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and supervise engineering designers, including daily assignments, quality reviews, and oversight of deliverables.

  • Manage project schedules, budgets, contracts, fee proposals, and scopes of work.

  • Serve as primary contact for clients and public agencies, building and maintaining strong professional relationships.

  • Provide technical oversight on public works and capital improvement projects, design-build efforts, and pipeline infrastructure.

  • Prepare and process public works and improvement plans, specifications, and design-build documents for contractor and agency clients.

  • Conduct preliminary engineering design studies, considering site constraints, land use, and regulatory requirements.

  • Ensure compliance with jurisdictional codes, standards, and procedures across California (San Diego region experience strongly preferred).

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering (BSCE).

  • Minimum of 6 years of public works experience, or 10 years of total civil engineering experience.

  • California Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred.

  • Demonstrated ability to make independent decisions and exercise sound judgment.

  • Proven management and supervisory skills with experience leading technical staff.

  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills with clients, agencies, and peers.

  • Broad technical expertise in public works infrastructure design and delivery.
