Principal Project Engineer Full-Time, Regular, Professional

Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (BSCE) and CA Professional Civil Engineer registration (or ability to obtain within 6 months).
8-12 years of relevant experience, or equivalent work experience totaling 12-15 years.
Demonstrated independent thought and decision-making skills.
Minimum of 3 years of management experience supervising technical staff.
Proven leadership and supervisory abilities.
Strong project management skills.
Ability to establish and maintain positive relationships with clients, public agencies, and internal teams.
Managerial Experience
Managing construction documents and contracts.
Overseeing construction support and field coordination.
Managing project schedules and budgets.
Preparing contracts, fee proposals, and scopes of work.
Extensive client and public agency interaction experience.
Leading design and support staff.
Knowledge of jurisdictional codes, standards, and procedures in California is highly desirable.
Technical Skills
Ability to perform conceptual and preliminary engineering design studies considering land use, zoning, site constraints, infrastructure, and regulatory issues.
Experience with regulatory plan preparation and processing.
Preparation and processing of public improvement plans (private and public).
Conducting constructability reviews.
Supporting construction services.
Additional Skills
Applying civil engineering principles, techniques, and procedures.
Knowledge of business and management practices including strategic planning, resource allocation, leadership, and team coordination.
Leading and directing design teams with independence, setting realistic goals.
Familiarity with jurisdictional processing and negotiations.
Exhibiting strong leadership, time management, and communication skills.
Proficiency in CAD for preparing plans and exhibits.
