Mechanical Design Engineer – Aerospace Sensors (MA)

**Please Read**  The role is responsible for the design of electromechanical sensing devices, pressure sensors, liquid level sensors, temperature and flow sensors, and fuel gauging products. This role specifically works in , liquid level sensors, temperature and flow sensors, and fuel gauging products.

This is a global, multi-site business unit that designs and manufactures highly engineered sensors and fluid management systems for aerospace applications.

The Mechanical Engineer specializes in developing aerospace components in fluid and fuel level sensors and flowmeters.

The Mechanical Engineer should be a self-starter with design experience in a manufacturing environment and have technical and project management capabilities. 

The Mechanical Engineer will develop new technologies to sustain competitive advantage while working within a multidisciplined team environment.

Responsibilities:
  • Track record of success in design, test  and manufacture of electromechanical sensing devices, pressure sensors, liquid level sensors, temperature and flow sensors, and fuel gauging products.
  • Create 3D models utilizing SolidWorks, specifying materials and assembly methods.
  • Create documentation for product designs: design reports, FMEA’s, test procedures, test reports.
  • Perform Structural, Thermal, Fatigue, and Dimensional Analyses
  • Review customer, industry specifications in support of bid and proposal and product design..
  • Integrate design for six sigma, reliability & manufacturability into product design while achieving customer objectives of performance and schedule

 Requirements:
  • BS Mechanical Engineer, MS in Mechanical, Electrical, or Aerospace Engineering a plus
  • Expertise in electromechanical sensing devices in aerospace, defense, automotive or medical industries.
  • Proficiency with geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T).
  • Knowledge and understanding of aerospace components and standards a plus.
  • Written, verbal, and interpersonal skills and strong use of analytical tools, including FEA..
  • Skilled in Word, Excel, SolidWorks and familiarity with PLM/PDM software (ARAS Innovator).
  • Expertise in designing for severe vibration and thermal environments.
  • Function as individual contributor and team member, eliminate obstacles through creative and adaptive approaches.
  • Blend of technical, project, and positive customer relationship building experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to be self-directed and effectively relate to all levels of an organization.
  • Ability to work under pressure, multi-task meet deadlines while flexible to changing priorities.
  • Must be a US Citizen or Green card holder.
