A leading manufacturer is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer II to join its Engineering & Maintenance team in Greensboro, NC. This role supports critical production and facility operations through hands-on electrical troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, and system optimization. The ideal candidate brings a strong foundation in electrical engineering along with practical experience in a fast-paced plant environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Diagnose and repair issues with production and facility equipment, including electrical, electro-mechanical, instrumentation, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
Troubleshoot and resolve machine and process issues using appropriate test equipment and schematics.
Perform scheduled preventive maintenance and document work in accordance with company procedures.
Assist in maintaining parts inventory and equipment readiness.
Support and provide training to electricians and maintenance mechanics when necessary.
Maintain work areas in accordance with 5S and plant housekeeping standards.
Follow all company safety protocols and ISO 9001 Quality Policy guidelines.
Participate in cross-training and assist in other roles as required.
Other duties as assigned by supervisor or Engineering Manager.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) is required.
2–5 years of experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
Proficient in electrical diagnostics and repair, including the use of meters, scopes, and related test tools.
Experience interpreting electrical schematics and technical documentation.
Familiarity with ISO 9001 systems and preventive maintenance best practices.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Mathematical and Analytical Skills:
Ability to apply algebra, ratios, proportions, and engineering formulas to practical maintenance and electrical tasks.
Capable of analyzing data to identify problems and propose effective solutions.
Physical Requirements:
Frequent standing, walking, climbing, stooping, kneeling, and lifting (up to 50 lbs).
Must be comfortable working in industrial environments, occasionally exposed to mechanical equipment, elevated platforms, fumes, or risk of electrical shock.
Work Schedule:
Standard work hours are 8 hours per day, Monday through Friday.
Flexibility required to work overtime, weekends, holidays, and off-hours in response to business needs.
Tools and Equipment:
Use of electrical test equipment, meters, scopes, and industrial shop tools is essential.
Must be able to operate standard facility maintenance equipment.
Responsible for personal hand tools and proper use of tools issued from the maintenance tool room.
