Production Manager Atlanta, Georgia, USA Job Description Production Manager Duluth GA 98-110k +Bonus (Depending on Experience) We are seeking a data-driven Production Manager to join a well-established food manufacturing facility located in the Duluth, GA area. This position reports directly to the Plant Manager and plays a key leadership role within plant. The ideal candidate is a self-motivated, proactive leader who can drive performance through effective leadership of other leaders within the facility. We are looking for someone who is a sound decision-maker, capable of tackling challenges head-on and delivering results through optimizing processes, fostering a culture of accountability, and partnering closely with the Plant Manager to meet production and performance goals. This GMP facility operates across three shifts and encompasses the full production cycle—from cooking, mixing wet ingredients to packaging, as well as warehousing and distribution. DUTIES
Ensures plant safety is treated at the number 1 priority and safety standards are met within the production area.
Provides leadership and direction to Production Supervisors, and skilled at coaching and developing leaders.
Collaborates with all plant personnel to ensures product meets quality standards.
Monitor/track/review previous days production and downtime sheets, yields, labor, product usage/waste and provide follow-up and corrective action, as needed.
Oversee kitchen operations from a quality and material management standpoint; raise the expectation and accountability; material usage vs material management to assure accurate BOM’s and inventory.
Lead daily leadership huddles by going over KPI’s and corrective actions.
Understands lean manufacturing principles & drive RCAs as they relate to quality, safety, process and/or customer complaints. Initiative and develop process improvements.
Has mechanical knowledge of equipment to effectively collaborate with the maintenance department for weekly work orders.
Manages labor and staffing requirements, approves payroll, interview, hire, discipline and conduct performance reviews
Works with the plant scheduler to develop daily, weekly, and monthly production schedules to meet customer orders.
Coordinates with Warehouse Manager/Inventory Control for capacity process and prepares plans to assure production capacity will meet sales requirements.
Oversee and maintain involvement with warehouse operation at a higher level; Assure accurate flow of material issuing, shipping & receiving.
Participates with Inventory Control, Purchasing, Quality Control and Distribution for planning of finished goods level.
Coordinates with Plant Manager and Quality Control to schedule product testing.
QUALIFICATIONS
Previous experience in front line supervision or similar management position.
Must understand production cost, performance, and a working knowledge of product formulation.
A college degree in Business or equivalent experience of at least 5 to 10 years.
Must be able to effectively communicate with other Department Heads and as well as effectively train subordinates.
Can be flexible with his/her schedule to support production shifts (1st, 2nd or 3rd) and work weekends when required.
